When we were on camp staff, a lot of our friendships are born through necessity because we lived so close together for three months a summer.
Four people would cram into a dank cabin. Maybe two others would share a disgustingly hot commissioner tent in which you could bake bread.
Now, we’re spread all over the place. The Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The urban wonderland of Cincinnati. And many have stuck around central Illinois.
That’s the importance of the association’s Web site in making this thing work. We don’t care where you live – we’ll find a way for you to take part.
It could be as simple as just keeping your information updated in our records so past friends can find and contact you again. People who live closer might be more active.
Either way, we want this Web site to be key to keeping people in the loop. That’s why we’ve committed to start updating it at least once a week starting in early April.
Sometimes it’ll be important association information, or an update of newly-joined members. Other times, maybe we’ll have a story or some photos to share from something that happened out at camp.
Come back regularly and see what’s going on. And don’t forget to check out the photos (link) we already have, or the ever-changing wiki (link).
And if you haven’t yet sent your information to us, please do. You can e-mail us at isralumni@gmail.com. Send your name, what years you worked at Ingersoll and what you did there, what you do now and where, and some contact information including an e-mail address.
We promise to keep the e-mail address private, but we’ll show some of the other information to give people an idea of what you’re up to nowadays.
Finding more old friends is another reason to come back and visit the Web site.
We’ll keep you posted.
